Up on the top of the bookshelf, under the letter "S" are my special edition copies of Pride & Prejudice, Wuthering Heights, and Little Women. They've all been gifts from my husband over the years. He knows me well. ;) The bottom shelf is all of the books I have physical copies of on my TBR. The top shelf is books I love. What you can't see is my collection of classic books (which includes, but is not limited to every book by Jane Austen, my well-loved copy of Gone with the Wind, and the entire series of The Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit). They are on the top shelf, but behind my series books and favorite books. My next house WILL have more room for my books.
And each of my boys have a bookshelf (or at lease a place to keep books as is the case in the baby's room).
Older son's bookshelf:
(Plus more stacked in the top of his closet that he isn't old enough to read yet).
Baby's book bucket:
(I LOVE children's books. He has a whole shelf full in the armoire in his room, plus a HUGE box full in the garage that I'll get out when he gets older).
Thanks for stopping by!
These are awesome photos! I spy the Francine Rivers series---love it!! Including the boys' shelves was a perfect idea for this mini challenge. I'm missing all my children's books that are in storage right now. Would love to have you visit when I have them because I know you would appreciate my collection! LOL.
ReplyDeleteHey one book shelf is enough! E-reading is still reading! <3
ReplyDeleteEven with only the one book shelf, you have some fabulous books on there! ;D Plus e-reading is A-Okay! It's what helps me keep from running out of space in my own home. Lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny - your special books on your top shelf? Those are EXACTLY the special books on my top shelf! Literally. LotR, every Jane Austen book, Little Women, ...and what is either Jane Eyre or Wuthering Heights because I can't remember haha. I'm so surprised! I didn't think people's shelves would be organized so similarly to mine!
ReplyDeleteOooh my god, I need a night stand shelf like that to keep all my current reads and tbrs. I'm sensing another trip to IKEA soon. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteYour baby's book bucket is so bright and colourful! Your night stand shelf is lovely too! <3
ReplyDeleteLove the shelves! I see JLA and Throne of Glass :)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of a book bucket! My daughter is almost 2, I may start one for her :)
It's so awesome that you are encouraging your kids to read a lot!
ReplyDeleteI don't have a lot of space for bookshelves and read mostly on ebooks as well, so I get the struggle.

Those special editions look so purty!! I would love a special edition copy of P&P and Wuthering Heights.
ReplyDeleteOne shelf is plenty! I like that you added your kids shelves.
ReplyDeleteI love your bookshelf! And I love the bookshelf and basket for your boys! We have kids books all over the place too. I love that you thought to include the places for their books! :D
ReplyDeleteGreat snapshots!

Awesome collection of books for your kids and I hope they grow to enjoy reading! I know for me it was definitely video games and outdoor sports above reading haha.

I still think your bookshelf is awesome, particularly the special editions and that awesome top shelf ;) But really, as long as you're loving what's ON your shelves, that's all that matters. Also, such a treat to see your kids' shelves too!
ReplyDeleteI'm more of an e-reader too! I used to have a huge bookcase of books, but after a fire a few years ago, I swore I would never replace my books with real ones, just sticking to ebooks. Well, of course I didn't stick to it, but my e-book collection is a lot bigger than my physical ones. I love that your HP books are front and center. :)
ReplyDeleteYour bookshelf is so sweet...I love how you've arranged and I think I may need to find one of those amazing initial shaped books. I can't tell you how much I love the fact that your instilling a love of reading in your boys at such a young age. You're an amazing momma!! HUGS!
